Tim Hance, AIA is the president and founder of J. Timothy Hance, Architect, P.A. located in Columbia, South Carolina. Having grown up in a small southern town, Tim decided at a young age that he had a passion for architecture and wanted to be an architect.
After receiving his degree from Clemson University in 1984, Tim worked for one of the largest architectural firms in the southeast, Stevens and Wilkinson, Inc. (S&W). While working for S&W, Tim worked on several types of large-scale commercial projects throughout the southeast.
In 1986, Tim was asked to join McClam-Blake Architects, Inc., a small residential design firm located in Columbia, as the firm’s first employee. After 8 years of working on custom residential homes and large-scale renovations, Tim decided to open his own practice focusing primarily on these types of architectural projects.
Since 1994, J. Timothy Hance, Architect, P. A. continues to offer traditional architectural design. The firm has evolved into a multi-discipline firm offering primarily residential architectural design and selected commercial design for projects located throughout South Carolina.
